With each new year there are always new trends. Whether it be in the world of design, fashion, or music – patterns start to form and help shape the culture of our lives that year. In years past, things like rose gold and millennial pink stole the spotlight, but things are shaping up to look a little different in 2018. As we enter the year we’re seeing certain design trends that are beginning to stand out more than others. We did some research online to see what people were posting and came up with our own predictions for 2018. Take a look!

Greenery may have been last year’s Pantone colour of the year, but its softer cousin sage is having a moment as we head into 2018. Whether it’s in the form of a plush couch or the paint you use in your kitchen, sage will be a calming addition to your home.

Persian Kitchen Rugs

Just like anyone else, we’re totally obsessed with Instagram. We spend a lot of time each week going through our favourite design accounts and certain things start to stand out after a while. Lately we’ve been seeing something we absolutely love: Persian rugs in kitchens! An incredibly stylish accessory that adds a touch of sophistication immediately!

Moody Kitchens

All white kitchens have been a thing for as long as we can remember. While we can’t say we’re totally over the look yet, we can say we’re on board with the shift to moodier, darker kitchens that feature all black cabinets.

Throwback Accessories

In fashion, trends are cyclical. The same can be said for interior design. While we crave and love the new, the odd nod to the nostalgic tends to go over well. Lately we’ve been seeing lots of throwback pieces that feature retro materials like wicker and macramé.
