It’s hard to believe we’re already half way through the month of August.\u00a0Questions like, ‘How did the summer breeze by so quickly’ and ‘Wait, what happened to my summer bucket list?!’ come to mind. Don’t let the date hinder your summer ambitions though! There’s still lots of time to check some of those items off your summer ’17 bucket list. One quintessential summer activity that you definitely don’t want to miss out on is a trip to the beach. A bonus to living in one of our Brampton, Kleinburg, or Whitby communities? The perfect beach day isn’t that far away! Here are some options for a day of sand and sun nearby.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Heart Lake Conservation Area, Brampton<\/h1>\n

Brampton’s own Heart Lake Conservation Area has to be one of the most beloved summer spots for locals and visitors alike. Located in the north end of the city, Heart Lake boasts a sandy beach perfect for splashing around in. You’ll also find lots of other things to do here such as enjoy the splash pad, go paddle boating, fishing, or hit one of the nearby nature trails.<\/p>\n

Professor’s Lake, Brampton<\/h1>\n

This 65 acre spring fed lake, found near Bramalea Road and North Park Drive, has lots to offer. Hit the beautiful beach and enjoy a day of swimming and taking a trip down the water slide. Your beach day at Professor’s Lake can also include beach volleyball and a spin around the lake on your vessel of choice with paddleboat, canoe, kayaks and stand-up paddle board rentals available.<\/p>\n

Iroquois Beach Park, Whitby<\/h1>\n

This picturesque beach can be found across from the Port Whitby Harbour. With a lengthy shoreline and lots of green space nearby, Iroquois Beach is the perfect spot for a lakeside picnic.<\/p>\n

Kiwanis Heydenshore, Whitby<\/h1>\n

The dramatically beautiful shores of South Whitby’s Kiwanis Heydenshore Park may be a bit too pebbly for sunbathing, but this doesn’t mean you can’t take a quick dip, stroll, or skip stones. The nearby park, splash pad and plethora of picnic tables and grills make this idyllic for a day of BBQ fun.<\/p>\n

Just a 1 hour drive from our Kleinburg community, Innisfil Beach offers you beautiful views of Lake Simcoe. Here you can enjoy a full day of swimming, boating, and fishing.<\/p>\n
