This summer has been very gracious – easing us into the higher temperatures, preparing us for the scorchers. But as we finish July and head into the August, the heat feels like it’s hear to stay. Whether you choose to hide out in A/C or guzzle your Iced Capps, staying cool is top priority on those hot days. But there are more fun ways of keeping cool (think inner-tubes). Wild Water Kingdom – Brampton

Sadly the infamous water park is closed for the 2016 season for massive upgrades and renovations, but we think it’s still worth mentioning, because we’re excited to see what’s to come. Wild Water Kingdom boasts 100 acres of water slides, wave pools, and sports facilities. Whether you bring your toddlers to splash in the pool, or you’re a thrill seeker, WWK has got it all.

Tubing down the Credit River

With plenty of access points (preferably in Ingelwood or Mississauga) the Credit River offers the ideal spot to canoe, kayak, or tube! If you go when the water isn’t too high you’ll be able to enjoy a leisurely float down the river, taking in the scenic nature that surrounds you.

Kiwanis Heydenshore Park is the perfect place for the family to spend the day, and cool down! With a splash pad, a beach, and a beautiful park nearby this is a great spot to picnic – not to mention take in some incredible views of Lake Ontario!
Tubing down the Elora Gorge – Elora

Elora Gorge is a very popular summer destination. Tube down this not-so-lazy river and enjoy a fun ride on rushing water. All you have to do is register for your equipment, pay a small fee, and you’ll be cruising down the beautiful and scenic gorge.
Wild Wetland Splash Pad & Pool – Heartland Lake Conservation Park, Brampton
