Despite the temperatures and the fact that a fresh pile of snow was dumped on us this week, spring is on its way. It’s an inevitability. Fresh blooms and sunny days will hopefully accompany the thaw. Spring is all about fresh new beginnings and sweeping any cobwebs out of your life, both literally and metaphorically. That being said, it’s also time to start thinking about tackling a little spring cleaning around your home. To help you out, we’ve done our research, and found some DIY cleaning product recipes. Check them out and get ready to make your home shine.

- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol
- 1 tsp dish soap
- 10 drops essential oil
Combine all ingredients in an empty spray bottle, shake it up, and get ready to get your clean on.
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1/4 cup dish soap
- 20 drops sweet orange essential oil
Mix it all up in a container, apply to a non-scratch sponge or cloth and you’re ready to go.
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 5 – 10 drops essential oil
- 1 gallon hot water
Add all ingredients into a bucket, grab your mop, and you’ll soon have gleaming tiles!
- 1 part beeswax
- 4 parts oil (olive, coconut, or walnut)
Melt the beeswax into the oil, and cool until hardened. Simply rub into any wood you want to polish and wipe off the excess.
- 1 part blue Dawn dish soap
- 2 parts hydrogen peroxide
- 1 – 2 tbsp baking soda to make a paste
Combine, and pour onto the stain. Scrub gently with a toothbrush or garment brush, let sit for an hour, and then simply wash according to the clothing label.
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 cups water
- 8 – 10 drops essential oil
Combine in an empty spray bottle, spray onto your glass surface, and watch as you get it clean and streak free!
