When choosing decor for your holiday party you can go one of two ways. You can choose traditional accents, or try something totally new – it just depends what aesthetic and vibe you’re going for this year. Both are great in their own way. Traditional holiday decor is obviously classic, you can’t really go wrong. However, modern or quirky decor is a lot of fun and will mix things up. You’ll have to choose traditional vs. new for all aspects of your holiday decor from the tree to the wrapping to the table settings. To give you a head start we’ve put together a collection of lots of different holiday place settings to inspire you.
When does the holiday season officially begin? For retail stores it seems to be the day after Halloween, for social butterflies it’s the first party of the season, and for school-aged children it’s the last day of school before the winter break! This year the last day of school lands on December 23rd, so you can expect your little ones to be absolutely bursting with holiday joy for that entire week. The holidays continue until January 9th, so there’s lots of time for family fun. Here are some ideas to help you fill the holiday itinerary with your kids!
You can always count on stores to remind you about the impending holiday season. Upon waking up the day after Halloween, most shops will have updated their decor and stock with tinsel, ornaments, and balsam boughs. Despite thinking, ‘It’s too soon!’, you can’t help but feel a slight tinge of panic when you realize you have (understandably) not started your holiday shopping yet.
It’s official! The snow’s on the ground and there’s a chill in the air, which means it’s time to get out the holiday decor! It’s projected that this winter will be warmer and with less snow than the polar vortexes of years past, so there’s never been a better year to get festive outside. We’ve rounded up a few outdoor decor ideas we know will look amazing, whether you’re in a detached, semi or townhome. It’s time to celebrate!
