Let’s face it folks, we live in a big, beautiful, bustling country that has so much to offer. From east to west, Canada’s got natural wonders, concrete jungles, and a rich history filled with tales of both hardship and triumph. As we celebrate its 150th birthday this year, you should make it a goal to see as much of our nation as you can – so here’s a bucket list, including distance from our Highpoint community, to get you started!
With the Easter long weekend about to begin, there’s lots to look forward to. First and foremost, the chocolate of course, but also the time spent with family! There’s also something that combines both of these things that makes Easter weekend so special: Easter egg hunts! A classic tradition for Easter weekend, an egg hunt is an exciting activity for kids to take part in and for parents to enjoy. There are lots of places around the GTA where Easter egg hunts and days of springtime family fun are being hosted. Here’s a rundown of some hunts taking place close by.
The winter season drums up a mixed bag of opinions. Some people love those frosty days, while others (literally) hide from them. The best way to approach winter and its below freezing temperatures is to just embrace it! Bundle up, get outside, and partake in all the fun winter activities the season has to offer. Whether you’re making snow angels, skiing on the slopes, or hunting down a warm and tasty hot chocolate, joining in the winter fun some way or another will make the time fly by. Another great winter activity, and probably one of Canada’s most beloved is ice skating! There are lots of great spots throughout the GTA to dust off your skates and hit the rink, but these are some of our favourites.
You can always count on stores to remind you about the impending holiday season. Upon waking up the day after Halloween, most shops will have updated their decor and stock with tinsel, ornaments, and balsam boughs. Despite thinking, ‘It’s too soon!’, you can’t help but feel a slight tinge of panic when you realize you have (understandably) not started your holiday shopping yet.
While summer provides hot days at the beach, and winter, a great chance to hit the slopes, fall is simply just beautiful. As the season changes, as do the breathtaking colours that surround us. Brampton is a great place to find amazing fall colours. Whether it’s at Heart Lake Conservation Area, downtown, or on one of the many trails, the city of Brampton will get you that fall photo you so desperately want. No Instagram grid, or Facebook album between the months of September and November is complete without capturing those orange and crimson hues of autumn. Here’s a look at the season in Brampton through your eyes!
If you were to make a list of all the reasons fall is wonder, what would top it? The fact that Starbucks brings back the Pumpkin Spice Latte? Sweater weather? Turkey? All those reasons are valid, but another list topper? The beautiful fall colours. There’s a time in early October when all the trees become ablaze with bright colour, making any outdoor spot something to behold. It’s also a great reason to get outdoors and explore the wonderful nature around us. Here are some of the best spots to see fall colours in the GTA.
