How to pull off Wabi-sabi design

If 2017 was the year of Hygge, the question remains: what design trend will reign supreme in 2018? Trend forecasters are already making their predictions for the coming year’s hottest style, and it’s possible you’ve never heard of it! That’s okay, neither had we. Does Wabi-sabi ring a bell? If not, we did some research to better understand this Japanese style of decor. The Wabi-sabi design philosophy is centred on the beauty of the imperfect. Keeping things light, soft, and airy are key to a perfectly serene interior. Here are some of our favourite looks to get you inspired.

An Inside Look at High Point

It’s no secret that Paradise is in the business of building homes, but there’s another side to it. We’re building homes that will fit you and your family’s life – your dreams, your hopes, your future. While it’s your decor, keepsakes, and personal touch that will make the home all your own, even our unfurnished homes are pretty fantastic all on their own. We work alongside in-the-know designers to create interiors that are luxurious, but at the same time warm and welcoming. We spoke with the interior designer at Turner Fleischer who worked on High Point’s amazing interiors. Here’s what she had to say.

How to Add a Pop of Blue Anywhere

When decorating their homes, there are two camps of people. Those who hold back, and those who do not. While we’re fans of all types of design, we completely understand the desire to keep things neutral in your home, because they’re timeless! However, part of the fun in having your own home is getting to infuse a little personality into each room. One way to do this is to add a pop of colour to the space you’re decorating. We spend a lot of time perusing the best home decor on Instagram, and lately have seen a lot of design – from furniture to decor accents – using one particular colour. Here’s how to add a pop of blue anywhere in your home.
